The six large-format black-and-white paintings emerge from an investigation of electromagnetic frequencies that were already present at the respective site. Using a simple crystal detector and a long-wire antenna stretched through the space, signals from the immediate surroundings were captured.
These signals were then analysed through computer-based processes in order to identify the recurring frequencies that were significant for the site. The data obtained through this process formed the basis for their painterly translation. The paintings are therefore not free compositions, but visual condensations of an invisible field: painting as the conservation of an electromagnetic situation that had already permeated the space before it became visible.
