MOVING AND SPACE FORMING OBJECTS

ID: 021

Conventional concepts of space and the body within space have become inadequate. In light of profound social and technological transformations, the inherited notion of space has lost its validity. SPACE MUST BE THOUGHT AGAIN.

We already live in a society that, it seems, has distanced itself from older models of thought. It constructs for itself a parallel reality in which gender, age, and identity lose their materiality and dimension, and physical forces lose their validity. A reality in which spatial distances, typological boundaries, and even the limits of the possible are easily transcended or vanish entirely.

This gives rise to the impression of an ideal condition: a place without rules, without social impositions. Such a condition may be understood as a form of protest an extension or closure of a void left by the present. It compels us to rethink and redefine what space is, what the body is, and where existing environments fail to meet our needs.

Moving and Space Forming Objects responds to this situation through the development of an architectural dispositif that no longer conceives space as a static, functionally ordered structure, but as an open, processual assemblage. This dispositif renders space performative and transformative: it resists control, subverts legibility, and continuously displaces its boundaries.

At its core are “moving and space-forming objects.” They embody a processual architecture whose apparent stability is nothing more than the momentary crystallization of past movements. In this way, space emerges not as legitimized by permanence or function, but by its capacity to generate the unforeseeable and to open new modalities of spatial experience.
